The appearance of the neighborhood is a concern to everyone. The Glenbrooke HOA would like
to remind residents of the responsibility of maintaining their yards in a neat and orderly
appearance. In addition, all residents should follow certain recommendations:
- Spring pre-emergence weed control should be applied between Feb 15th and March 15th
- Cut lawns weekly during spring, every 10 days during summer months
- Lawns must not exceed 8 inches in height.
- Edge your lawns at least twice a year. Areas that touch concrete may need to be edged
more often. - Keep garden areas mulched and free of weeds.
- Bushes should be trimmed back in fall. Bushes should be trimmed as needed outside of
the fall. - Fall weed and feed should be applied in late September 15th and October 15th
- No fences should be in front yards. Fences generally should be of natural materials and approved by HOA.
- No vegetable gardens should be in front yards.
- Tree support and protection should be neat using materials from garden store that are
intended for that purpose. Using tree limbs or building lumber to support trees in
prohibited. Protection and support should be temporary and only for newly planted trees. - No satellite dishes in front yards.
- Vegetable gardens should be maintained nicely, be neat and regular, and pleasing to the
view. Things that should be avoided: vines growing in trees, structures built of branches
(prefer to use store bought materials that are sturdy and appealing), and fence materials
falling down or leaning over. - Backyards should remain neat. Storage of items should be under the deck or near the
house and out of site as much as possible. Used building materials, appliances, and other
“junk” should be removed in timely manner. - Homeowners should not put their yard debris in the common areas behind their homes or
around the pond. They can also be taken to the recycling center on Eubanks road.
The HOA will try to maintain the area between the sidewalk and Sylvan way areas cut and edged
so that this is done consistently. The HOA would like to remind residents that this area is the
property homeowner, and is not a common area – so if you would not like the HOA to cut it,
please contact one of the board members. Common areas are along Homestead Road entrance,
the pond area including the area between 302 and 304, and the woods behind some houses on
both sides of Sylvan.
Residents who go out of town should ensure that they have someone maintain their yard during
their absence. Yards that are not maintained are subject to action by the HOA, for example
cutting the grass, and any costs incurred are the homeowner’s responsibility.
The Glenbrooke HOA appreciates residents understanding of the recommendations. If you have
questions, please contact a board member.
Recommended Landscapers
Some homeowners have recommended the following landscapers for lawn maintenance and yard
work. The HOA does not endorse any landscaper, but provides this list for convenience. Costs
are approximate and should be confirmed with the landscaper as to the amount and what they
include. Landscapers may be able to provide different services.
